RiverStone is making a serious step forward in developing truly sustainable building practices for the benefit of everyone. RiverStone’s commitment is grounded in practicality, within acceptable cost constraints and built towards changing practices across the entire industry. RiverStone has spent the last 12 months researching the available technologies and products that can now be included in our designs that will improve the sustainability of our construction work.
Included in all our homes from 2008 will be a rainwater harvesting system, a grey water recycling system and a 1.5Kw solar power generating system. We are installing solar hot water systems as standard and have implemented the provisions of the 5 Star Plus requirements. RiverStone will offer the latest high efficiency lighting from batten fluoro’s, compact fluoro’s and LEDs. The use of these products vastly reduces the power consumption attributable to lighting in homes. Furthermore, energy efficient Inverter technology has been standard on our air conditioning designs for some years. RiverStone has committed to changes in our standard specifications which will make a serious improvement to the sustainability of homes both in regard to water conservation and greenhouse gases. All of the above new facilities are included as standard fit out on your new RiverStone home.
